I’m currently spending a week touring the Shetland islands bringing my harp, tunes and stories in live performances to patients, residents, children and staff at 10 different care settings across the islands.
The trip is being organised by the fantastic organisation Music in Hospitals Scotland and has been made possible thanks to Total E&P UK Limited.
Great first concert at North Haven Care Centre in Brae. Heard lots of stories of certain, now professional, Shetland fiddlers who used to go in to entertain the residents when they were newbies… the word “screeching” was used!
Just out of BBC Shetland where I did a live interview with presenter Richard and I’m now grabbing a quick bite before heading out for concert no. 2 at the Gilbert Bain Hospital here in Lerwick.
