I’ve just published as a PDF the music for “McLeods of Waipu” that I recorded with Ron on Élan.
I named the lullaby like tune McLeods of Waipu after discovering a surprising connection to the New Zealand village while on tour in 2020. Reverend Norman McLeod, a former schoolteacher from my home village of Ullapool, led Gaelic-speaking Highlanders to Waipu, and seeing reminders of my roots 17,000 miles away and the results of the Highland Clearances was very moving.
The music includes an intermediate+ version (4 pages long) and an elementary version (2 pages).
